 ESL in Asia
Has anyone ever taught ESL? In China? or anywhere in Asia?
Did you like it? Was it lonely?

I taught ESL in Taiwan and Hong Kong. I liked it very much, but it was also a big challenge. You have to accept there are cultural differences, and YOU are the one that has to adapt to things. The culture will not change for you.
Yes, at times, I was lonely, but I did my best to make friends, both in the foreign community and with the locals. It's a mistake to expect to have a lot of friends immediately.
