Okay you can tell me the adverb or both.
Stand there beside the tree.
"It should arrive soon," said Mary.
The pitcher threw the ball down.
What is the adverb in each sentence?

an adverb answers "how" for the verb.
That should be enough for you to figure it out.

Beside - (adverb of place) it is telling the person where to stand. It is acting on the verb "stand". The sentence should be "Stand beside the tree".
Soon - (adverb of time) enhancing the verb "arrive". Giving a time frame.
Down - (adverb of manner or action) enhancing the verb "threw". It shows the manner of action.
