You're not really hoping for magic are you? There are some very effective techniques, but language-learning is a very individual thing. I'd be happy to tell you about some things that have worked well for me in 20+ years of teaching, but I have always had to adapt my techniques to the situation, sometimes on a daily basis. Please tell me a little more about your teaching situation.
How big is the group? Games can vary widely depending on the number of players involved.
How old are the children? Regardless of their language level they could be overwhelmed or bored by the material depending on their ages.
Do the children live in an English-speaking area or not? If they are exposed to English regularly you can assign exercises that involve exploring and interacting with their community.
Are all the children in the class at a similar level of English proficiency? You may need to stick to activities in which all students can actively participate.
Do the English learners come from the same language and cultural background?
All these factors can affect which materials to choose.
Telling parents what language to speak at home would be extremely offensive to many people. (Me, for instance.) Besides, this practice has no language-learning effect if the children's English is already better than their parents', which is very often the case.
I hope to hear more from you so that I can give you more concrete strategies to help you in your teaching.

It depends on the age level, but there are so many games that can teach.
Hokey-Pokey; Simon Says both teach body parts
I spy teaches vocabulary of classroom objects and colors.
Put signs on EVERYTHING!
e-mail me for more age appropriate suggestions

Teaching implicitly is what parents do at home. Your job is to teach explicitly. Follow a standard currciculum if you want to succeed at your job. Tell the children's parents to only speak english at home. This is the standard implicit method of learning english as practiced by generations of 1st and 2nd generation immigrants (myself included). It works very well.
